Louis-Charles Lapierre

A graduate of the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) with a bachelor’s degree in environmental chemistry and bioresources, he is particularly interested in the current and future environmental issues facing island and maritime communities. Also hailing from Magdalen Islands, he firmly believes that chemistry is an essential discipline for the economic and social development of the archipelago. His two internships during his academic career, along with his first post-study work experience as a scientific advisor and wine grower allowed him to consolidate his scientific and professional rigour. A member of the Ordre des Chimistes du Québec (OCQ) as a Training Chemist, he is interested in the valorization of several residual materials as part of the circular economy. Through his expertise, he demonstrates a strong ability to analyze, communicate and popularize science.
